Residency at Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen
Returning to the area where I grew up felt like a deep journey back to my roots. Experimenting with large scale watercolors and further exploring recycled porcelain became a transformative experience. Using ceramic decals was a new chapter in my artistic journey. This technique allowed me to weave stories directly into the sculpture by combining photographs I had taken during my time there with my drawings and existing patterns.
The collaborative performance with my mother, a first-time experience, brought hidden family stories to light and added layers of meaning to my choice of recycled porcelain. The intense exchange with my mother about her story enriched my understanding of the underlying motivations. In essence, this residency became a profound chapter of self-discovery, artistic development and family connection.
